It is on the island of Faial that the most recent volcano in the Azores, about 50 years old, and its explosion has displaced several families in the Capelinhos area besides making that landscape completely different, torrid and arid, the opposite of what it is normal on the remaining islands. It is also in the Capelinhos that you will find a museum of high volcanological interest, where we can learn on how each one of the different islands were formed. Another point of interest is the Caldeira, a large crater with a breathtaking view of the island of Pico and of the city of Horta. A little bit everywhere and throughout the island you can see hydrangeas on the roads and once in the city we can visit the Peter’s Café Sport, Mount Guia, and Mount Espalamaca with a view of the city and a view to Pico Island.
